I was looking for a new exhaust for my 2006 230F as the stock exhaust was badly rusted. Initial research showed prices in the $300-$500 range, and I've already put a lot of money into this bike. So I read the review carefully and decided to buy this JFG 788 Powercore 2 exhaust. The installation went well. After reading other people's experiences I made sure all the hardware was loosely aligned before tightening and that made all the difference. All well aligned, combined with slow shaking and flapping to keep things in their intended place. Take your time here. The overall view is great. The materials are high quality and the welding feels solid and well made. steel and aluminum parts. Remember that this exhaust needs a new washer as the exhaust pipe gasket. The Tusk Complete Gasket comes with a gasket, or you can order the gasket individually for a few dollars. When sprayed correctly, the whistle takes on a red-gold color which looks very nice (see picture). The sound is excellent. Adds a much more aggressive sound which I really like (see attached video). Think more MXers braaap-ey. Sure it's louder, but I like it. Mine was already uncorked, but I noticed a little less performance. For example, when I climb steeper hills and get to the top, the front wheel now prefers to lift off the ground rather than follow the contour. My main criticism is that this will not be a USFS approved spark arrester. However, it appears to be the same pipe diameter as the factory, so I think finding an exhaust tip that meets USFS criteria should be relatively easy. without breaking the bank.
