My original Kubota seat was unserviceable and a replacement from a reputable Kubota parts dealer cost over $250 inclusive Steer. The screw pattern shown in the ad indicated that my 7 1/2" width would be sufficient, but not the 5 1/2" depth (front to back). I tried 4 1/2" deep first and drilled a pilot post to check alignment. There wasn't enough material in the mount to ensure a secure fit at a depth of 4 1/2" so I used those Depth of 8" carefully measured with masking. Tape as a guide (see photo) and carefully drilled two 3/8" holes for the 8" bracket. It fitted perfectly. I used 5/16 18x3/4"- Used class 8 bolts and washers to secure the seat and added blue locktite instead of over tightening the bolts and removing the threaded inserts. Installation took just over an hour but I am happy with the comfort and quality of the seat and can't wait to get my tractor up and running again. It's a little wider than the original, but I have easy access to the seat belt.
