We previously had a Nikon waterproof camera that worked great until after quite a lot of use and 20 months it was no longer waterproof. When I expressed my dissatisfaction, Nikon reps flashed us their noses, so I should have known not to buy another Nikon product. However, I bought a W300 for my wife's birthday. It seems that almost the same camera as ours, but with some upgrades. However, the UC-E21 USB cable, required for wired transfer of images from the camera to a computer, was not included. The box looked like I hadn't opened it first, but apart from the missing cable everything looked fine. I didn't care about the lack of a cable because I wanted to transfer all of our photos wirelessly. However, and this is my biggest complaint and the reason I am returning the camera, I cannot connect the camera to my iPhone 8. I spent hours and hours trying to figure this out, watched several videos on youtube and finally broke down and called Nikon. Customer service. The representative worked with me for an hour and although we repeated the same steps as I did over and over again, not a single connection was successful. The rep argued that too many Wi-Fi options were interfering with pairing and suggested that I "go to a remote area that doesn't have Wi-Fi and try again." This was Nikon's official recommendation. For real? There are some shockproof waterproof Wi-Fi cameras that cost a lot less than this camera, so I think I'll try another manufacturer.
