works as advertised

I bought this on behalf of a customer who for some reason lost all USB ports on their motherboard. Since this is a high-end system, it didn't make sense to install older USB ports like 3.0. I've only tested it with a mouse and keyboard, so I can't speak at rated speed. But he did the job well and relatively easily. The only caveat is that I half expected it to occupy one of the short PCIe slots, but it requires more than that 1x. Yes, you can put this 4x card in the 8-16x long slot. This client only had one free PCIe slot, but of course you only need one. And that should save them the hassle of buying a much more expensive motherboard replacement. If I could find such a newer protocol board with 4 Type A USB ports, I would go that route. Whatever, once the mouse and keyboard are connected, they only have one free Type A port. But I think they can connect a USB hub if they need more, or buy a Type C to Type A adapter. Windows 10 recognized the card and automatically installed the drivers - no discs or manual download required. It's worth noting that their BIOS didn't listen to the mouse and keyboard attached to that expansion card, meaning that if I had to go into their BIOS settings to change anything, I had to use a PS/2 keyboard, and that was it luckily they had that port.
