About 5 years ago I installed a gas heater in my workshop. This year I noticed a faint smell of natural gas. I checked the connections with soapy water and found no leaks, but the smell was still there. I shut off the gas and decided to order this leak detector. Despite conflicting reviews, I decided to give it a try. Batteries inserted and warmed up. I turned on the gas valve in the garage and checked for a leak. We didn't have to wait long, the detector worked almost immediately. Upon further inspection, I found that my leak was at the choke. As soon as I put the keys in the fitting the leak was gone. I'm happy and glad it was that easy. It was definitely a worthwhile investment in my toolbox.
