Disappointed with headlight bulbs

They don't seem as bright as the Xtravision units I've replaced. I actually thought the XtraVision bulbs were pretty good and was really looking forward to the SilverStars' "increased clarity". And the most interesting thing is that SilverStar's lifespan is expected to be MUCH shorter than XtraVision's. 150 hours vs. 850 hours for the primary filament (low beam?) and 50 hours vs. 200 hours for the secondary element (high beam?) (see photo). All this and they cost a little more. Otherwise they are fine.
