$40.00 -- 1 bad SS2000 AVR. $25.00 -- 1 "good" AVR SS1200. $25.00 -- 1 failed SS1200 AVR. My new SS2000 Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) case was broken on arrival. The boost light came on every time my A/C was turned on, but the clicking sound continued for 5-15 seconds after my OPTI-UPS SS1200 AVR's boost light went out. they are both connected to the same circuit defined by the circuit breaker/panel. Replacing all the connected electronics between the SS2000 and SS1200 AVR did not help this SS2000. Of my three AVR purchases, one SS2000 and two SS1200 (January 2013), only one SS1200 worked properly (see OPTI-UPS SS1200 600W 1200VA Stabilizer Series 6-Outlet Automatic Voltage Regulator for my fuller review). A good SS1200 AVR doesn't seem to handle the advertised 500w or 600w load as advertised, even with my 350w load. I've been using all 3 APHs for a little over 9 months and have only just begun to understand the differences and quirks with regular use. See the SS1200 section for detailed AVR troubleshooting information. With an OPTI-UPS success rate of 33%, I cannot recommend this company's products.
