Review on Enhanced Performance 92250 1/4-HP Thermoplastic πŸ’§ Submersible Sump Pump with Tethered Float Switch by Quintin Boner

Worth a try vs. constantly failing Zoeller

Everyone in the submersible pump business will tell you to get a Zoeller. I have three. I understand cast iron helps cool the pump, but rust is too much for me. What I really dislike about my Zoellers is the shifter assembly and derailleur in the derailleur housing. These parts sometimes wear out as quickly as during a rainy season. It also means the pump may not turn on when needed. What's next, you know. Of course you can have your pump checked once a year. If it works, that doesn't mean it will keep working during the rainy season. Or you can pick it up and inspect and replace the derailleur, derailleur and gasket if needed, about $60 for parts. That will last until next year. Or you're fed up with corrosion, leaking gaskets, a burned switch. Half the price of a 1/3 hp Zoeller M53. You will receive a 1/2 hp plastic beauty. The hole should be large enough to accommodate the tethered float switch. Will it burn out because its body is plastic? Well, if the switch fails and the pump runs all the time, maybe it will. Otherwise I say forget it. I give 4 stars for the low price compared to the competition and the work after installation. Only time will tell if it will have the reliability and durability you have come to expect from your sump pump. Update December 2020 I just bought another one. To replace another Zoeller that failed due to water ingress into the switch housing. The first one I bought a year ago has worked flawlessly so far.
