Added in edit: 10/2/'13Sometimes one is better off buying in person. I like the watch, so I went to a local dealer back in August. His watch had the same problem. I was passing by last weekend. His watch still had the same problem, but.I notice one with a red band that, while not perfect, was "good enough". I asked the shop if they had a mesh band for the watch. They did not have a Mondaine (I'm not even sure Mondaine makes one in the same size.) but they did have a quality matching band from another maker. Since it sold for the same price as the Mondaine leather band (which is not cheap), they were happy to switch bands for me. One might say that I paid 14% more by buying locally but, having saved myself the price of a band, it worked out just fine.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Original review: 8/22/'13It's a railroad watch. I like to set my watch to the Naval Observatory. I time things (pulse,.). I had to return it. The second had was not aligned with the tick marks on the face. Not even close. Dead center between them. I really liked this watch but I knew the misaligned second hand would drive me crazy. I'm trying to find one locally so that I can see it before I buy it.Added: I chatted with an online seller who said this sort of thing is normal for inexpensive watches. (This model was intended to be included in that characterization.) So, I'll either have to get one locally or find a seller who will check a watch in advance of shipping.
