I have had Star Tech products in the past and have had good experiences with them. So I went with this cable, believing it was better quality than most. When I connected my devices with this optical cable, there was no sound from my Sony receiver. My old optical cable works better than this one. I need a cable that is about 20 feet long so I can no longer use my old OC. Also note that it is not fixed like most optical cables. I thought my receiver stopped working and tried adjusting the settings for both my receiver and my TV, then tried my old optical cable and it worked fine. I just wasted my time fixing an issue that is unique to this cable. It has many good reviews, so I don't know if I received a defective item. I won't be ordering or getting a replacement as I don't like that this cable doesn't snap in like most. Also, I don't like how thick this cable is. It is almost the same thickness as a standard coaxial cable. I do not recommend this product at all.
