At first I wasn't sure what size to choose for my pup as he is only 7 months old and still growing. It weighs about 9 pounds so I went in the medium size. It fits him and he looks very comfortable in it. It's roomy enough to slip on a cotton shirt and sweatshirt underneath when it's a lot colder outside. The only thing I don't like is the drawstring around the neck. I like that the tip is adjustable; I adjusted it to shrink the area, but the excess thread will just end up hanging outside. I try to hide it under my clothes but eventually it comes out. This is a minor annoyance, but it would be nice if there was a small hole to hide the extra rope. The jacket is rainproof. Of course, I didn't take it in heavy rain, but if it rains only occasionally, it's effective against water because it stays dry.
