I purchased this item on August 28, 2017 and started using it the following week. Took it to the Philippines and used it on 28 hour flights on Jet Blue, Asiana Airlines and Cebu Pacific. No problems at security checkpoints, no problems on the plane, no problems at work and still as quiet as possible. Some things you need to KNOW: 1) Feet can slip. LOOK CAREFULLY at them (rubber parts, no plastic components) 2) Yes, yes, yes, two USB ports. lol but ONE MUST be used for FANS. So you have ONE free USB port. I don't need it however, but it sounds like you can use 2, with no obvious power supply from your laptop via a USB port or external power supply component. 3) DO NOT lose the male to male USB cable. They're not available everywhere lol. It's best to buy a spare just in case. 4) It definitely cools down the computer. I ran some 3rd party programs and did a temporary bios test and it definitely works. 5) It says it doesn't support external hard drives. LOL YES IT DOES. At least he did: Seagate Backup Plus 4 TB Portable External Hard Drive USB 3.0, Black (STDR4000100). Granted now. This is a laptop hard drive, not a desktop. However, this is an external hard drive. 6) I checked it. I'm a gamer, I'm also a ripper and I code too. I also ran Elder Scrolls online, and WoW (World of Warcraft) at the same time as GoT ep. 2160p S03E04 with external mouse and hard drive, while the fans were running my knees didn't get as hot as they should, but got a little warm. warm, but that's to be expected when the graphics card is activated due to games and shows. Now imagine running ESO for 6 hours and WoW for 9 hours while watching 12 hours of TV series on an airplane as you fly over the oceans and airspace of Russia and Korea. Let's just say my husband in the passenger seat had a blast the entire flight. My knees and my boys were really happy with the lack of heat. Thank you Havit 5 Fan Cooling Pad. I will buy another one, thanks! ** If you're a gamer paranoid about the heat, does this also work from 2600-5000 rpm. EDIT 1: as of 9th August 2018 - this article is still ongoing. In some cases, when I turn it on for the first time, the fans can run loud, but then stop after almost 5 seconds. No complaints here. I use it almost daily 3-5 days a week at work.
