Useless humidity monitor

Humidity sensor not working. If that's what you're buying it for, look elsewhere. The diffuser itself is nice and quiet, with a large capacity and even the ability to add essential oils in a separate compartment. For my purpose of automatic humidity control it doesn't work and will be sent back. The whole point of the purchase was to maintain a comfortable level of humidity in the orchid room without major intervention. However, the auto humidity feature doesn't really work. I have several Thermopro humidity/temperature sensors (alongside some of their other products) and they have never failed me or been inaccurate. Here's how I tested the humidity sensor: I turned on this humidifier and after syncing it with my phone, set it to turn on and off automatically when the humidity was set to 60%. The humidity in the app showed 65% to my surprise since my humidity index outside was 55% and my thermometer on the floor read 37%. I figured it was a minor bug and that maybe some water dripped onto the sensor while the tank was being filled or that it needed to get used to the environment. I decided to leave it on for 48 hours without actually running it to allow it to acclimate. I also placed two more humidity sensors in the room, one directly above the unit and the other 4 feet away and about 2 feet above the unit (which was on the floor). There are now three humidity sensors in the room and one humidifier sensor. After two days I checked the app to see the humidity and it showed 55% and the humidity index was 44%. My humidity sensors from lowest to highest (in terms of physical location) show 37, 37, and 39, respectively. I decided to give the humidifier another try anyway, turned it on at a mist level of 4 out of 9, and came back two hours later. The unit showed 62% humidity with sensor readings of 53, 56 and 54 respectively. Although closer it is still extremely unreliable and I will be returning it.
