Review on Bridgestone Turanza T001 205/60 R16 92V summer by Barbara Grska ᠌

Valuable purchase, nothing but pluses!

The main criteria in choosing tires for me were: 1. Good handling and traction, both in rain and dry weather 2. The presence of a strong sidewall, since the roads are not so hot and for some reason I really don’t like repairing tires. The choice was made in favor of breeches. I have been driving this Japanese-made 205/5516 tires since April this year on kia ceed 2022. From the moment of purchase to this day, I have traveled about 10,000 km, so I have already got some impression of Turanza. Of the 10,000 km, about 3,500 were covered on the highway, the remaining 6,500 were in the city. Pros: 1. In the city and on the highway, both in the rain and in dry weather, it behaves perfectly, as if it sticks to the asphalt. 2. It swallows various bumps and pits well, since the sidewall here is what you need for bad roads 3. Hydroplaning is not about this rubber. Even deep puddles pass very imperceptibly. Minuses: 1. As for the money, it can be a little noisy. It doesn’t really bother me, but nevertheless this rubber lies closer to the premium class, they could make it quieter somehow. 2. Since the rubber itself is quite hard, it is naturally sensitive to the rut (keep the steering wheel tight) and does not go through various irregularities very “softly” (asphalt joints, hillocks, tram rails, etc.). But here is a choice: either drive quieter and softer and "treat" the rubber from road surprises, or drive louder and rougher, but with rubber intact. 3. In terms of wear resistance, I have a double impression. Driving style is average. Many people write that the rubber runs quietly for more than 40 thousand km, and after reading this, I believed that it would be so. Now the front remains - 6.2 - 6.3 mm, behind - 6.6-6.7 mm. According to my indicators, it will not pass more than 40 tons. Km. With minuses like everything. By cons, you can still of course include driving on a primer, especially after rain. But this rubber is not made for such roads, its element is asphalt. To sum it all up, I'm happy with the tires. If good handling and durability are important to you and noise and stiffness of rubber are not critical for you, then buy it, you will not regret it.

Pros
  • 1. Good handling and traction on both dry and wet pavement 2. Strong sidewall 3. Hydroplaning resistance
Cons
  • 1. Noise, especially on coarse-grained asphalt 2. Harsh when meeting bumps 3. Wear resistance (according to my preliminary calculations, a maximum of 40 thousand km will pass. Not critical, but not supernatural)
