First off, let me say that I have had several other air purifiers and am aware of white noise. I bought a bedroom flex after reading about Alena. It arrived today and the packaging was fine. I opened the box, put the filter in place and pocketed it. I turned it on and immediately smelled a chemical smell. Then I noticed that the motor spins up and down slightly at fan speed 2, which makes the device make a very annoying noise. Then I read that the smell is a constant problem. I also learned that Alen filters are not true HEPA. They don't even have a HEPA rating and an AHAM rating. I've already put this junk in a box and am sending it back to Amazon tomorrow. What a waste of $400. Lesson learned I think. You don't get what you pay for with this company. I should also add that I asked the company for help and had to leave a voicemail that hasn't come back yet. Find another reputable company that really is HEPA!
