These phones seemed to work fine for a few months, but lately they're transmitting snippets of conversation at both ends of the line. That is, from our side, a word falls out every few seconds. and from what the other says it is clear that the same is happening to him. We've had these phones for less than a year so it's time to check the warranty to see if they can be replaced. If they don't, I'm afraid we'll kick them out and move on to something else. For reference, I bought a similar pair of Panasonic phones for our backcountry country home a few years ago. They worked perfectly - never had a problem with them. I don't know if these new phones suffer from all the wireless interference we're supposed to live under in an urban environment, but unfortunately they don't do the job. Updated January 17, 2018 (Upgraded from two stars to three): Before I ditched these phones, I decided to experiment with moving the base station - it was next to a bunch of devices in our bedroom and I figured they could do one Kind of create electromagnetic interference on the radio frequency of phones. I took a longer phone cord and hooked up the base station to an extension cord so I could place it about three feet from home electronics. Result: no more dropouts with incoming and outgoing calls. Both phones perform the same as they did last year when we first got them. Bottom line: if you've bought these phones and are experiencing annoying disconnections during phone calls, when the voice on the other end of the line cuts out and your voice is the same (according to the person on the other end) - try moving the base station, especially if they is in close proximity to other electronic devices.
