This is for WAC104

I have read many disappointments about this item. It's easy to set up. This is an ACCESS POINT ONLY. It doesn't have a built-in DHCP server. It has a DHCP client that allows you to connect a cable to one of its Ethernet ports on your home router to get an IP address, and clients connecting to the WAC104 will get an IP address via DHCP from Your router or other connected DHCP server can get your network. In my case I just connected RJ45 from my laptop to a port on the WAC104. I was able to log in with the admin user and password (which is printed on the back of the device) with no issues. I bought this one because it has the option to turn off the 2.4 or 5 GHz band completely. I needed a router where I could turn off the 2.4GHz band entirely because I use it to set up live music and my mixer needs an access point to connect to via my iPad. I also use a wireless guitar device that is near an access point and any device with the 2.4GHz band enabled is interfering with my guitar's WiFi. I threw the old Apple Airport on this device. It works great. If you're expecting this thing to connect to your modem and give out IP addresses, you're looking at the wrong field. It's just an access point.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Slightly torn
