Dangerous Undocumented instructions

I bought this device to use primarily for manually unscrewing and changing bulbs in household ceiling lights. I've been officially changing lightbulbs in my family for 50 years. It looked perfect for hand use (sometimes on a pole), but it was primarily an easy way to use levers on 'available' jigs. After opening it I couldn't understand how it works with so many buttons. a non-rotating collar and "huh?" movements all around that either didn't seem to move at all or otherwise didn't show up as working devices and their purpose. To me it looked like a crash or device failure waiting for "something to break or break". I'm a sane intuitive home builder, but this was a complete conundrum when it came to doing things high up on a ladder or under an attached post. I was so outraged that there were no detailed instructions other than a coded video link (which failed to connect). The instructions SHOULD NOT BE A PLANNED action, but rather an illustrated step-by-step spreadsheet that accompanies the device. Relying on the Internet to avoid being electrocuted, falling down stairs or bathing in broken glass to then become official Dufas saves the company's seller a few steps in terms of buyer safety. I will not use such "you find out" service. It will be returned while I live.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Very expensive
