I used to make little birds out of glass for my art. I closed the mold, poured out the glass suspension, shook it and poured out more. After it was frozen overnight, I placed it in the oven along with the other chocolate molds on the same schedule. The ends of the bird trunk didn't come out very well, but I trimmed them off and then trimmed the trunk to the thickness I wanted. This is a great way to get the thickness you want, and you can trim it as needed to keep tiny birds from hanging around.
