MUCH better than a Saltwater Hydrometer

I had a floating hydrometer for my reef aquarium but was concerned it might not be accurate. I bought an Instant Ocean floating arm hydrometer. waste of money. I ended up buying this refractometer (and separately buying salt calibration fluid from AMERICAN MARINE INC to check the calibration). The areometer is very easy to use, comes with a water collection pipette and a zip case. It is absolutely accurate due to the well-known calibration liquid. The scale is really easy to see and understand and there's also an eyepiece adjustment which gives you good focus even if you need reading glasses. I can test water in 5 seconds without blinking. With a hydrometer, I had to read the scale of something that was drifting with the current in my aquarium, or try to shake air bubbles off the hopeless Instant Ocean hydrometer. I highly recommend a refractometer rather than a hydrometer to ensure you have the correct seawater mix. I wish I had bought it years ago. I will never return.
