I wish I had listened to the reviews. Squeezes the air like crazy and then YES it starts making this very high pitched buzzing whining noise. It will drive you crazy I sleep with earplugs on and quite often I can't even sleep with them on because that idiot fan is screaming like a maniac. I hate this. I wasted my money. don't waste yours Edit: I hate this fanboy. No matter what settings I'm wearing, all settings result in a weird, heaving, wailing sound. I liked that it was overall noisy as I didn't mind the actual sound of air movement. I liked it because of the white noise. But now it's all noise, high and low, and I'm going to throw this thing in the trash. Trust me, even if it doesn't make any noise for a while, I promise you it will eventually. And it will drive you crazy.
