I tested this product on 2 separate tanks. I first installed it in my 10 gallon nano reef tank. The aquarium is a 10 gallon rimmed tank with a 55 HOB tide filter, full spectrum Hygger light and Aqua Top heater.1. Unboxing - not many details at first glance compared to my other ATOs. I noticed that the submersible pump is very small. It could be 1.5 inches wide and about the same height. The controller is also very compact.2. device connection. The pump, power supply and controller are very easy to connect. There are 2 small cables coming out of the controller. One has a male end and the other has a female end. Accordingly, the pump has a female connector and the AC adapter has a male connector. This is useful because the connection types are the same. You can't connect it wrong.3. Installation - There were 4 steps in the user manual to install the system. It's very easy. I will say that it took me a minute to understand "SPT". So here is my explanation for that. SPT is the run time for a pump and appears to be an overflow safety feature. When you initialize your system, it calculates how long the pump must run for the water to reach the high-level sensor. This way, if one of the sensors doesn't work for any reason, the pump will only run for the recorded time to fill the tank from low to high on the first initialization. So this appears to be an added security feature. Observations: The regulator does not work well on a rimmed tank if you want the water level to be above the visible part of the rim. The system is best suited for a rimless tank or sump. When installing the universal holder, I noticed that it does not fit on the edge of the tank because it is not wide enough. I hooked it up to the gas cap and was able to get it to work. Not ideal if I have to take the lid off, but it works. Again, this is another piece likely intended for a tank with no rim or pan. Overall, this is a great system that is well worth the money. I highly recommend this ATO. The second tank I tested it on was a 220 gallon reef tank with a 40 gallon eshoppes sump. Installation - Installation is similar. The ATO controller and universal holder fit exactly as intended. What I noticed after completing the setup. This ATO is very quiet. I can't hear it when it's on. What works for me now is very noisy and 3 times more expensive. Recommendations. I recommend this product for sumps and rimless tanks. With some modifications, it can be used in tanks with sidewalls. ATTENTION! Place the control part on the outside of the tank! When I first read the instructions, I put it in the tank. The mag float goes in, not the controller!
