I know others have complained that Mrs. Meyer's smells too strong, but even their website admits it, so that's just the purpose of their products. I personally love the clean smell of basil in the bathroom, lavender in the laundry and geranium in the kitchen. The key is to use a small amount and these products work great so you don't need that much anyway. I usually use about half the recommended amount. The surface scrub does a great job on my countertop and bathroom, especially when compared to other cleaners or pure borax. It's coarse enough to cut through soapy water without scratching. Pure borax might be a little better for the environment (but only a little since it's almost entirely natural), but it takes forever to clean surfaces because it's not a cleaning agent. I bought a box of 6 that will last me for years to come so it's worth it in the end.
