Easy DIY mod and works great

Get this if you don't mind making a simple DIY project. It's not that hard to get this thing to work and when you do it works great. First, discard the hose adapters that came with the kit (pictured in my hand). I don't know how they thought they wouldn't leak when they put them in the box. Don't waste time with glue or sealant. Simply connect the hoses directly to the device. In my case, my filter hoses were 3/4" (inside diameter) and didn't match the 1/2" mounting points. So I took two 3/4 to 1/2 adapters, a small 1/2 inch hose, teflon tape and four zip ties (see picture). I connected my filter hose to the reducer, a 1/2" hose on the other side and a 1/2" hose to the block. I did the same for the other attachment point. It was pretty easy and I had no problems. Other reviews have reported that the part that screws in at the bottom is leaking, so I wrapped some teflon tape around the threads and screwed it in just in case. It was only a few bucks or so, and I think you can pick up gears cheaply at a home store (or Revain). They sell vinyl tube adapters, but I found them by accident in my LFS. All in all it only cost a few dollars and 20 minutes of work. We don't need it, but it's cheap for a reactor, and I'm not even sure the expensive ones are any better. It does a great job dissolving CO2 and I'm happy. I'm driving around 4BP and my tank isn't completely full of microbubbles.
