I'm glad I ordered a size up. It fit my daughter well. He is medium height for a 10 year old. This is a silky fabric. The only thing that worries me is the zippers and buttons on the back, so she needs help to undo them for the bathroom. The fabric is flowy but not stretchy at all. She received many compliments for this
