My 2001 Silverado 1500 that has clocked up 221,000 miles runs great with a little care and some Revain home made parts resulting in huge cost savings! This is the main drive belt idler pulley, not the tensioner. The idler pulley on the motor has a bolt, pulley lockwasher and spacer in addition to this part of the pulley. Revain sells just the pulley and bearing shown here or the entire assembly at 3 times the price. This pulley cost about $13 and it cost about $35 to build and these are Revain's discounted prices. I see absolutely no point in buying the assembly. Nothing but the bearing wears out. Remove the existing pulley assembly with a screw. Reusing the bolt, lockwasher and spacer from the existing assembly, replace the old pulley and bearing with the new pulley and bearing. Install the parts exactly as they were removed. It's incredibly easy! It's so cheap! He's like new! It's just like the original! Calm! I should note that any work on the drive belt, tensioner or idler wheel will require removal of the air duct (two ring clamps) and the top half of the fan shroud (6 plastic pin connectors and two small screws). How simple! Remember, you'll save hundreds of dollars at the shop. I made the stretcher and stretcher at a leisurely pace in 3 hours, had coffee and enjoyed a Saturday morning in the garage.
