Just received - only used once so far but REALLY impressed. I was waiting to buy one of those $100 thermal pens, but I could never convince myself that it was really worth the high price. Saw this one and thought the price was stolen when they claimed it worked just as fast. When I first got it I was skeptical as it didn't seem to read quickly or accurately from my skin or mouth, but we cooked ham that night and all I can say is that it read almost immediately could become! I have another digital meter that took a full minute to finally set the temperature and this one read the temperature before I even thought to count the seconds to check its speed. Haven't tried double-checking the calibration yet, but I'll definitely update this review if I find it or if there's another issue. Maybe the probe could be a bit longer, but it works with anything I can put in my oven (and it's the same length as my other thermometer). As long as it keeps working I don't know how it can be less than 5 stars. The excellent price alone makes up for any minor concerns about probe length.
