Works great with kitchen utensils and gadgets

**Update** I've had this for a few months now and it works great. I love the magnet feature which allows me to easily attach it to my stove. I've also had the opportunity to test the waterproofing (why I chose it) and so far it's working well. It survived multiple washes and the death dive that killed my last thermometer. **Original** So far it works exactly as advertised. I haven't exactly used "waterproof" over the bell, but it reads significantly faster than the last "instant read" temp…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not automatic

Quickly. Exactly. Tasty meat.

You never know what you're going to miss until you experience it. It seems to match this thermometer. I've never made a thermometer before. I've always used the $5 offers from the store and never expected much in terms of accuracy. I wanted to buy one of the $100 models recommended by several websites, but this model was listed as a contender on every review site. I'm totally amazed. It's fast. So true. He is durable. It's stuck to the fridge. That lasts a lifetime. I use this thing a lot when…

Died after 10 months.

This is the best of many meat thermometers we have. Exactly as advertised - fast and accurate. UPDATE: Stops working after 10 months. Blank screen when opening. The new battery didn't change anything. Playing with the battery resulted in a reading of -58 degrees, which disappeared after closing and reopening. Used about 10 times just for fried chicken. Never abused. Never wet. Nothing like sticking it in a chicken. After reading other reviews I see that there is no point in messing with…

Very unstable! -never had a stable reading from the start!

Well I thought if I invested in this more expensive thermometer I would at least get a reliable thermometer (mainly for checking the temperature of meat). But this thermometer has been sitting in my kitchen drawer for almost 2 years next to the old fashioned one I replaced because the old one was 10 degrees above normal. Over the years, I've always pulled out my shiny new digital meter, only to see its readings jumping all over the place, and then pulled out my trusty old-fashioned thermometer…

Fiction! Quickly! Exactly! Best value!

I never thought I would be this excited about a kitchen tool but I really needed an accurate, instant read thermometer and this was the best. It's so quick and easy I use it all the time. I've had what they call instant read thermometers from the grocery store, and they're terrible. BUY for just a few dollars more! If you ever doubt the accuracy, boil the water and test it. At sea level, distilled water boils at 212 degrees. Claimed accuracy is +/- 0.9 degrees. Mine was exactly like that! The…

Great deal on meat

Just received - only used once so far but REALLY impressed. I was waiting to buy one of those $100 thermal pens, but I could never convince myself that it was really worth the high price. Saw this one and thought the price was stolen when they claimed it worked just as fast. When I first got it I was skeptical as it didn't seem to read quickly or accurately from my skin or mouth, but we cooked ham that night and all I can say is that it read almost immediately could become! I have another…

After a while it stopped working normally

At first I really liked this thermometer. It provided accurate readings and the magnet feature is great for storage. Battery life is good and the auto shut off helps. However, after about 1 year of use, it started giving inaccurate readings. For example. It's 70 degrees Fahrenheit at my house and it says -37 here. Take out the battery enough times and it can eventually be read correctly. Leave it off and store it for a few days and it can work properly again. The problem then becomes not…
