I never thought I would be this excited about a kitchen tool but I really needed an accurate, instant read thermometer and this was the best. It's so quick and easy I use it all the time. I've had what they call instant read thermometers from the grocery store, and they're terrible. BUY for just a few dollars more! If you ever doubt the accuracy, boil the water and test it. At sea level, distilled water boils at 212 degrees. Claimed accuracy is +/- 0.9 degrees. Mine was exactly like that! The 4-second response time means you don't have to hold your hand over a hot pan while the temperature rises or drain all the heat from the oven when examining meat. My girlfriend liked it so much that she ordered it as a gift. If you've read this far, stop talking and just get it! You won't find a better or more useful thermometer. In fact, you don't need a min/max hold, beeps, or buttons, and you don't need to spend double, triple, or more for a longer probe, rotating display, or backlight. This is definitely the best buy!
