This timer does what I need and has a working switch. As everyone has written, the magnet is the weakest link. Mine detached from the device, dropping the timer onto the tile floor. He survived. I buy some good quality magnets from the hobby store and epoxy them to the timers. Since each timer fails, I'll use the next one from the stack. This is a good deal for the price. RECOMMENDED UPDATE: 21.10. The first timer is now unusable because its beep doesn't work. I opened it up and made sure all the wires were connected. The beep is barely audible when brought directly to your ear. The new battery didn't change anything. I assume every unit on this line will be out of service in a month or two. For your $15 you get the opportunity to count the time for a year. I think it's ok as long as the other devices are fine initially. cheap products. NOT RECOMMENDED.
