First I bought these for a friend then she liked them so much and was so impressed I bought a set. They are great for cooking but also for many other purposes and are very easy to set up. I don't like that it stays on while the battery is in, I was hoping it would switch to a blank screen when not in use to save battery (uses AAA batteries). This timer does what I need and has a working switch. As everyone has written, the magnet is the weakest link. Mine detached from the device, dropping the timer onto the tile floor. He survived. I really only needed one; However, I'm notorious for dropping and breaking things, so I figured a 6 pack might be a good buy in the long run. I chose this brand because it indicated I could clip them to my pocket and I thought they might work on either my top or the back of my pants; However, the clip is too weak for that - it broke, and my shirt is not made of thick material.
