Very loud noise right out of the box. I've had them before and they didn't rattle. Noise makes it uncomfortable which defeats the purpose of the massager by hearing loud rattling. Too much work to send back so hopefully they better test before sending and shipping. However, if you can turn off the internal rattling noises, the massager works very well. Great percussion and doesn't feel cheap. In general I like it. Apparently I just received a broken one that wasn't handled properly.
