Review on Focusrite Clarett 4 Out Audio Interface by Adrienne Holmes

I have this 2pre USB that works fine with USB power, first a bit of trial and error and a firmware update on the hardware before it worked properly. This is a great upgrade from the 2i4 I used. In comparison, it has the same build quality as the 2i4, even slightly improved. The ability to control outputs 1/2 and 3/4 with the monitor control knob via the Focusrite controls is great compared to the 2i4. The sound quality is amazing and with the better circuitry in this unit compared to the 2i4 there is a bit more gain which is nice to have even less noise. The shock suppression circuitry on the 1/2 outputs works very well. As a bonus, the optical input on this unit is great as I can connect my TV's optical output to it and easily have my TV/console playing in the highest quality through my monitors or live system. Lately the headphone amp has been a lot more powerful than the 2i4 but my only gripe is that to boost the headphone amp the monitor control has to be cranked up and if you have monitors connected and depending on your setup are facing you this isn't perfect .
