I bought this antenna to replace a Little Wil magnetic mount that had been on the roof of my Suburban for a couple of years (it was supposed to be temporary). I chose this antenna because it is very similar to the Larsen NMO2/70B ham antenna I already installed on the driver's side hood and I wanted to mount the RoadPro symmetrically on the passenger side. I installed it on a Firestik SS-174 stainless steel hood duct mount and connected it to my CB radio using a Firestik K-8R18 coaxial cable (with Fire Ring connector). I cut the cable to length and soldered the connector that came with it. All of this was very simple and clear. By default, the antenna was heavily out of tune; My meter showed an SWR of 2.5 on channel 1 and an SWR of 3.4 on channel 40. Don't worry, tuning this antenna couldn't be easier - you simply loosen the two chrome rings at the base of the antenna and re-tighten up or down the stem. as needed, and then tighten again. It took me a few times to adjust them but in the end I got the SWR down to 1.1 across the board (tested on channels 1, 20 and 40). Looks great, very easy to set up and offers little wind resistance. What's not to love? This antenna is fantastic value for money.
