Super scanner for security and surveillance

My first handheld scanner after years of using old reliable desktop models from Radio Shack. The Uniden BC72XLT handheld works great with excellent reception in my area and clear sound. Choose between AC adapter, non-rechargeable and rechargeable batteries. Notice the switch in the battery compartment for two types of AA batteries. When you sit down to enter frequencies, keep a clear head so that you understand the key sequence correctly. The instructions for entering the frequencies in the…

Maybe it works. Maybe not!

I will be honest with this product. I live in Alabama - cell phone and received the device today. And I did some research about this product and my region before purchasing this device. Unfortunately, I found out this morning (before the UPS man delivered the package) that Mobile County Public Safety uses a trunked radio system! And the only channel she chooses is the weather channel. This device. I haven't had any problems with the device, but since it doesn't pick up other stations even with…

BC7XLT SCANNER REPORT 29 Aug 2012

Hello scanner lovers Bridgeport, CT this is a review of CT signals while I could have bought an 800mhz scanner but didn't, i live on 9 floors, pay attention to the signals Unlike the house and apartment, I can receive more than 37 channels of the nearby analog police and emergency services, some channels on the desktop scanner, such as 33.46, receive better than the base scanner. Gofigure, however, if you're into ATC air traffic, this scanner isn't for you. But my scanner picks up ham radio and

Nice little scanner

I am very happy with this scanner. Works surprisingly well for its size. Setting it up was fairly intuitive and it started scanning within 10 minutes of unboxing it. The reception is good and I can even receive a broadcast even though I'm not near the airport. I only got it yesterday so I'll post a more detailed review after using it a bit, but in terms of first impressions I'm really impressed! <Update> I've been using it for over a month now and I'm not frustrated at all. The reception…

Decent scanner for little money, limited frequencies

Honestly the only reason I bought this is because of my two Radio Shack scanners with "Signal Stalker" when the feature on both is gone would work. I repaired both once under warranty, then the second again under warranty. The Pro 97 SS stopped working again and they charged $20 to send it in for repair before telling me how much the repair would cost. So I just bought this scanner because of its "Close Call" feature which is the "Signal Stalker" RS. It wasn't until I put it in my cart and paid

Good basic scanner with the best security and surveillance features

The Uniden BC72XLT handheld scanner gives good results, especially on signals close to the user. I've used it in both a marine environment and an airport, and the scanner snaps into place quickly. The sound isn't the best with the built-in speaker, but it's great with in-ear headphones and we highly recommend it. Scanner programming requires a lot of learning, but becomes child's play after a few repetitions. The manual helps, but it's written vaguely. Learning the scan keys is also not an easy

Good Portable Scanner

First I have to say be careful as listening to the scanner can be ADDICTIVE! Since I received mine it has been working almost 24 hours a day. But seriously, this is a very good scanner. Compact enough to be carried in your back pocket or stored in your car's cup holder. Very easy to use after you program it. However, programming can be a bit tricky. The instructions are not super clear. After reading the instructions several times, I learned how to program local police and fire frequencies into

Good basic scanner - Radioscanners

This was my first scanner and I am very happy with it. After reading the instructions it becomes very easy to program things and start listening quickly. The CloseCall and Priority Channel features are very convenient. You're looking for really strong and close signals and the priority channel for each bank, but both create a second break in the audio almost every few seconds to look for signals, which is annoying. I also found 100 programmable channels to be quickly gone. I filled almost all…
