Review on 🕒 AMI Exact Replacement Timer Control Knob WE1M964 with Reinforced Metal Ring for GE Dryer - AP4980845 PS3487132 by Garrett Craven

I just had a couple of these handles delivered to me a few hours ago and I have the installation on my new timer assembly for my Hotpoint dryer (made by GE , the old part said GE). The old timer had a plastic D-shaped shank that became rounded when the old handle broke. When I put everything together and slipped this handle onto the shaft of the new timer, it turned out that it was too loose. The old knob, even though snapped, was still much tighter on the shaft so I know the timer itself is up to date. They should stop promoting this for GE dehumidifiers as it ruins a $60 new part they just installed. I ended up removing the metal bushing from the inside of the broken handle to fill in the extra gap. I put it on the timer shaft before installing that new knob so it fits VERY snugly now which I'm happy with. While it worked, it was an ad hoc fix for a part that should have worked right away. So I paid a little more for this part with metal reinforcement on the outside of the plastic because it's meant to stay in contact with the shaft longer and increase its lifespan. Unless you're willing to slip your old grip's sleeve onto this grip like I did, I don't recommend using this part for GE/Hotpoint dryer timers as it immediately rounds the D shaft and you costs an additional $60. .
