Well before I bought this device I read a lot of reviews and they are all over the table so my expectations were low. I use this device to tune the wooden components of my hive and it runs absolutely flawlessly. I've had this device for over a month now and have tested it on multiple surfaces including wood, aluminum, leather, faux leather and have had fantastic results. learned while using the device. Easy to assemble! You'll need an Allen key and a Phillips screwdriver, that's all! Allen key included, but the supplied screwdriver is not suitable for the screws. If you don't connect it to a computer (I don't have it), use a USB drive to transfer images from the PC to the flash drive. and then connect the flash drive directly to the device. DIMENSIONS: Width: 18 inches Front to Back: 17 inches Maximum Height: 6 and 1/4 inches (table to top of laser unit) What did I take pictures on? My Aluminum "Blackout" Blue Yetti Microphone is amazing quality! I have the machine at 40% laser power and a depth of 6. I also wrote my own name and logo on my iPad Pro leather case and it came out PERFECT! I used it with 10% laser power and 4 for depth. Woodwork - I've done it on cedar, pine, Pine and Maple used - Pine sap leaks out when pine is burned and you can get really DEEP burns on the tree. You MUST put them in a folder called "bmp" and then put your images in that folder or they won't show up on the laser engraver screen! I definitely recommend this engraver! Cheap and usable all day long! When it finally breaks I will come back to update my review. GLASSES: I don't trust the very low quality glasses that come with it. I recommend getting class 6 soldering goggles to protect your eyes and better yet adjust them, line up the object and then DO NOT look at the laser in action! The soldering goggles have higher quality lenses, so that you can adjust and focus the laser better. I will come back to update my review.
