I can't find anything that even comes close to this lavalier mic. I needed a small microphone that I could attach to my car to record my runs, complete with a very loud exhaust system. I've tried several lavalier mics on the market, but many of them have very low sound pressure levels, meaning that recording above a certain dB level will only result in distortion; Simply put, the microphone is muted. Rode is a good choice, but I needed a TRS connector to work with my GoPro, so Sennheiser was my natural choice. With 130 dB SPL it was able to capturing the sounds of my car with a clarity and level that I can accept, although the actual fidelity left something to be desired. However, this is a lavalier microphone. For its size, it fits my needs perfectly. If I wanted more, I'd probably have to settle for a larger or externally powered mic. If you want to record very loud sound with a small microphone, the ME2-II is a good choice.
