I can maybe get 2 POINTS 1 foot by pointing the remote directly at the washing machine (both have new batteries in case you're wondering). Due to the VERY limited range and high directivity of the remote, I can't imagine you being able to effectively control multiple lights from a single remote, although I haven't tested this directly - white is about 3 times brighter, and honestly it's more more unpleasant than all other colors. You can dim the white, but the setting doesn't "hold." So if you cycle through the colors or turn off and on again, the white will return to its blinding brightness. Blink mode on/off for one color. If this is not a problem for you then it is highly recommended. Otherwise (like me) disappointing and not quite right for the purpose. But hey, for $20 what should I expect right?
