This is not pure nickel

I don't know what percentage the nickel actually is, but it's far from 100%. I bought it to do a nickel plating experiment and my plating solution came out dark gray with a slight green tint. Real nickel produces a light to dark green solution with no discernible gray color. If you compare the bulk price of this nickel coil to other nickel anodes on Amazon, this coil would be three times cheaper if it was pure nickel. Unfortunately too good to be true.
