Review on πŸ”ͺ RSVP International Endurance Vegetable & Fruit Peeling Slicing Kitchen Collection Peeler by Michelle Powell

It works but loses compared to Ekko.

I received this because my 20 year old Ekco knife is finally losing its sharpness. like my old Ekco, this one already has a small spot of rust on the edge of the blade. Compared to the old reliable Ekco cleaners, here is some information for those in a similar predicament trying to replace the old reliable: The Ekco is 6 inches overall. with a blade that has two 1 3/4" long cutting edges with a 1/8" hole in between. This RSVP has an overall length of 6 3/4" with two cutting edges that are also 1 3/4" long. The blade is wider and flatter with a 3/16 inch hole between the two inner cutting edges. The size difference gives a different feel, but not enough to affect performance. The old Ekco has a perfectly smooth cutting surface with fine tools. RSVP is very sharp but has a slightly rough, slightly uneven cut surface with machine scratches and pitting on the cut surfaces. The Ekco blade rotates 90 degrees. The RSVP blade rotates 120 degrees. Ekco is (was) high-quality stainless steel that is completely rust-free after 20 years. This RSVP has a thinner metal and after only two uses the blade's edge showed rust which is unsurprising given the lower quality of the metal and the raw, rough edge. Supposedly stainless steel, but obviously not 100% rustproof. Probably a cheaper steel alloy. The Ekco imprint reads "Made in the USA. EKCO NEE ACTION Patent #2232940 "RSVP imprint says 'Made in Sweden' Ekco cleaner weighs 0.9 ounces (25 grams) RSVP cleaner weighs 0.8 ounces (22 grams) I've had no trouble with RSVP .It skinned thick-skinned russets and thin-skinned reds as easily and quickly as the old Ekco. The rough surface of the RSVP peeler blade didn't seem to make any difference to the surface of the peeled potatoes.will last a long time as it's already starting to rust.I would suggest Spend a few bucks more on something else that will last longer, unless you don't mind replacing it much quicker than a quality one.
