Cuisinart vs. Black & Decker Double Waffle Maker Compared

A year ago I requested the Waring WMK600 double waffle maker on my wish list. I must be lucky because this year both my husband and my mother bought me double waffle irons for my birthday. The Waring had great reviews on my wish list but was discontinued. As far as I could tell this Cuisinart was the same identical double waffle maker as this Cuisinart WAF-F20 and the Cuisinart is the one my husband bought for me and my mom bought me a Black & Decker WMD200B. I have 11 mouths to feed so I figured it would be best to make 4 waffles at once and kept both double waffle makers! I thought it would be helpful to compare the two products for those trying to decide between them. Cuisinart WAF-F20 β€’ Exactly the same diameter waffles as Black & Decker β€’ Slightly deeper pockets β€’ Light and crispy waffles from both waffle irons - great taste. β€’ Comes with a serving cup to scoop the exact amount of batter for each waffle. β€’ Beeps 6 times when you turn it on, then beeps 3 times when waffle maker has reached cooking temperature and 3 times when waffle is ready to bake β€’ Waffles bake fast enough β€’ No problem with waffles sticking to waffle plates β€’ Adjustment knob for lighter or darker waffles. Setup #4 was perfect β€’ Built-in cord in base is handy β€’ Taller, wider and bulkier - not good for my limited kitchen cabinet space β€’ Stainless steel exterior - phew! Stains before we even poured the first waffle β€’ No product was easy to clean - all kinds of crevices and crevices. Although this Cuisinart didn't have a drip tray, the coating on the base wiped off very easily. The waffle iron plates don't come off on either product, but since they're non-stick, cleaning wasn't a nightmare. Reaching between the hinges and around the handles was the hardest part. Black & Decker WMD200B β€’ Waffles exactly the same diameter as Cuisinart β€’ Slightly smaller pockets but still deep Belgian style β€’ Light and crispy waffles from both products - great taste Not a problem for me as Cuisinart was there but if I have only bought the black & decker model, would like a serving cup. β€’ More compact design - definitely easier to store β€’ Liked the black plastic body - easy to clean and doesn't leave streaks or stains from the start like the stainless steel Cuisinart β€’ Removable plastic drip tray under the waffle maker handy for easy cleaning notifications. The light lets you know when the iron is hot, but it doesn't tell you when the waffle is done. This was definitely a grumble for me - I had a hard time keeping track of the waffles being cooked. β€’ Appeared to be cooking slowly. Maybe Black & Decker has fewer heating coils? I would compare this to grilling on the grill because my biggest problem with grilling is not getting distracted in between all those 3 minute waits. Since I can't stand still and do nothing, I often leave waffles out much longer than necessary. The waffles still tasted great, but that meant Black & Decker only made 1/3 the waffles while the Cusinart with the beeper allowed me to increase productivity. β€’ Reviews said this iron needed a lot of oil between each waffle, but I had no issues with sticking. β€’ As I said, neither Black & Decker nor Cuisinart cleaned up quickly. Waffle plates are not removable on any product. I'm deducting a star on both models as cleaning was a chore. β€’ Black & Decker is less than half the price of Cuisinart, and since I only make waffles once or twice a year I could probably get by with that. cheaper model. β€’ This would be a 3 star rating for this waffle maker, but due to the high price I have upgraded my rating to 4 stars. Keep in mind that I only used these two waffle makers for one meal (36 waffles). !), so I'm not competent to say which waffle iron is better, but if I had to choose just one iron right now, I think it would be Cuisinart because I think I can make more waffles in less time.
