I was a bit skeptical about this purchase as I've been dying for this stuff many times before, but it is exactly what was promised, both audio and video components! Simply disconnect and plug your existing Wii component or composite cable into this port, then connect to any HDMI device. It's only 480p or 480i resolution, of course, because that's all the Wii offers, but for this type of game it looks ok, the cable doesn't change the resolution in any way. I wanted my Wii to be connected to a monitor rather than a TV and this was achieved (along with an HDMI -> DVI adapter as my monitor was not HDMI compatible).
