Fairly quiet at level 1. You won't notice unless you're around. The squirrel cage fan is slightly unbalanced internally, but not that much. I like to use square filters because they allow me to replace the HEPA filter myself. Easy to open. a bit picky to close but not bad. good form factor, you can put it on a shelf in a corner etc. The remote control is nice and necessary. It would be nice to see a storage compartment or case for the remote so you don't lose it. Would love to see a 24 hour timer! Set it to turn on once a day for 1 hour at midnight, for example. it would be very nice. Inside is what looks like a UV sterilization lamp. no idea what anion means, haven't figured out what it does yet. has a display that measures and displays air quality values and a red/yellow/green color display. The reasons I chose it are the timer function, the remote control and the rectangular filter are easy to replace with your own hands.
