Shield and blades work great. The blades stay sharp for a long time. The screen tends to wear out after about 6 weeks. Small cracks appear in it in the center near the strip separating the halves of the screen. This does not initially affect the quality of the shave, but can become a problem as the tear progresses. Val replaced my first screen and blades for free as the screen started cracking after about three weeks. I have already bought a replacement and am still using it (more than two months). The replacement they sent me is my backup if I need it. The overall shave is excellent. Much closer than a regular razor or any other electric razor I've used before. Wahl's customer service is excellent.
