Review on RAMPAGE PRODUCTS 1263 Grey Breathable Cab Cover (with Top) for 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler 2-Door by Rodney Harris

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A great alternative to the constant lifting and removing of roofs during jeep season.

I wanted an alternative to topping my 2005 Jeep TJ for short summer showers. I've had it for about 2 weeks or so and it's grippy. In terms of construction, the top does what it is supposed to. It's easy to put on, has conveniently attached straps with plastic hooks. I accidentally broke off one of the hooks on my second use, but it's an easy fix. Apart from the hooks, which are ok, just not very strong, I have nothing to complain about in terms of construction. When I bought the top, Revane tried to say that this top would not fit my TJ. I've had a hard time finding a TJ in the reviews (thanks to the YJ guy, btw) so thought I'd throw in a review for the next guy. It fits great. I think this was meant for the JK which is a little wider than the TJ to give you a little more room. I used it on about 5 or 6 showers, some of them fairly light but two of them were long lasting heavy rains. The lid held up like a champ and everything stayed dry. I have used it with doors and top frame up and down. It definitely fits. It doesn't fully cover the entire doorway when the doors are closed, but it's easy enough to keep water out with some creative floor mat placement (see photo). and use common sense when removing it after heavy rain. I had a significant amount of water on the lid over the cab which was sagging. I almost screwed it up, but ended up pulling it out with a large cup until it was easy enough to remove. Even then it wasn't dripping, several gallons of water pooling right over my seat. I'm very glad I bought this $41 suitcase instead of spending over $100 for one that does the same. If it ever breaks, I just order a new one.
