My 7 year old son and niece absolutely love this item. I am very happy with it myself. Remember when we were kids we wanted to be doctors, astronauts and veterinarians when we were growing up. Kids these days want to be YouTubers, vloggers, and influencers. and this vtech kidi zoom maker camera is awesome and very well made. I really like that it's a fully closed system with no Wi-Fi connection or anything like that, so kids can't accidentally share what they create online and nobody can hack them. Setup is very easy. You don't even have to use a memory card if you don't want to! I bought the memory card thinking I would need it, but after reading the instructions it has its own memory. You can still use it if you want, but it's not required. There is a tiny switch on the bottom of the camera that you need to toggle and then you're done. It didn't take the kids time to figure it out. I let them play with it while I figured out where to place the green screen. They were so proud to show me their video! Basically they just pretended to fight with swords for 10 minutes but they were pumped up. The inclusion of a green screen was a brilliant move by vtech. There are dozens of preinstalled things to choose from. A dinosaur chasing you underwater, a nightclub, a haunted house, a weatherman, just to name a few. The kids loved being able to make objects appear to be floating in the air through magic. There are just a few small things I would change about it. The battery life isn't the best. I charged it fully before giving it to them and they played for about 90 minutes straight and it had to be charged again. Another thought I would change is green screen. While it's very cool and I love that they included it, I wish it was bigger. It's only about (roughly) 3 feet by 5 feet. The problem with this is that because it's small, it's difficult to fit them onto the screen and background of their choice. It's also difficult to make it seamless if you can't see the area around the green screen. I think I might just buy another one that's a little bigger on Amazon as any green screen should work with it I think. Overall I'm very happy with it! And more importantly, it's the kids. The price isn't too bad either. The green screen option with all the backgrounds preinstalled is what makes this camera special in my opinion. I highly recommend this!
