I was a bit disappointed at first because I couldn't use it with my Samsung Smart TV. After reading the poorly translated manual several times, there was no indication of a solution to the problem or troubleshooting. After reading some reviews someone was talking about a USB dongle and I started to think the dongle never made it to me. until I opened the battery compartment and found it there. The manual never said what it was, especially since it was there! Once found and connected, it started working perfectly, including adjusting the backlight. The only limitation is that the backlight setting is not stored on the controller. This means that as soon as it goes to sleep (a few minutes after it was last used) it will go off and not come back until you set it again for a few more minutes.
