Weird powder. for my opinion
Love this ice cube tray, but there is the industrial powder coating of some sort that they are covered in. I've washed them more times than I can count, boiled them, soaked them. And still get this powder coating the inside if my cups when I use the ice cubes. It like coats your mouth too. The photo is how much powder I get now after so many washes, but the first few times it was THICK, and not the good kind.
