I have several cats. They quickly tear nylon/cloth collars when scratching their necks. This one will take much longer. Two other things I like about this collar are the 1/2 inch width (the usual 3/8 inch width is not visible on most cats from more than a few feet because it is covered in fur) and the tension in the choker collar. "Tearable" part of the collar (some collars are so easy that the cat takes them off after 5 minutes, this collar is accessible in an emergency but is not otherwise readily available).
